More about NBA Lineups

What it measures

  • Expected starters from each team's depth chart and the injury report, and confirmed starters once the game lists them
  • Every reserve on the current roster by name, and every player ruled out
  • Each player's recent minutes when he plays and the range of those games
  • The latest CourtWatch report for each team, kept apart from the injury report's own listing

Data and updates

Built on the day's schedule, current rosters, the injury report, team depth charts, each game's box score once it starts and published CourtWatch reports. The page refreshes every minute.

How to read it

  1. Expected is our read of the starting five before the game; Confirmed means the game itself has listed it. A player ruled out moves to Unavailable, and the next player on the depth chart takes his slot.
  2. Min is the average of a player's last ten games played, the most recent counting most. It is what he has been playing, not a forecast, and a player with no recent games shows N/A.

NBA Lineups FAQ

When does a lineup show Confirmed?

Once the game has started and its box score lists the five starters. Before that the five is Expected, built from the depth chart and the injury report, and never shown as confirmed.

Does a CourtWatch report change a player's status?

A report about one player for that game sets the status the page groups him by, and when it disagrees with the injury report both are shown. A report about several players, or not tied to the game, appears as team news only.
